LED video wall systems are the next wave in communication and engagement, according to Joshua Dominguez, founder and CEO of Mechanicsburg-based Refresh .

Dominguez says the company, which began in 2019, is poised for strategic .

Already serving churches, he said growth opportunities in health care, franchise restaurant and retail businesses and university settings are among the short list of sectors primed for his LED video wall products.

“The future of this kind of communication is LED walls,” Dominguez said.

LED (light emitting diode) video walls are comprised of individual panels. Refresh LED customizes those walls to shape, size and scale.

“The cool thing about our product is we can go as big as we want and create a variety of designs to fit the building,” he said.

Refresh LED is currently preparing to move into a 30,000 square foot renovated facility in Mechanicsburg.

The new headquarters includes office and administrative space, 20,000 square feet of product demonstration area, and the region’s equipped LED video panel wall space available to rent.

Cutting edge; one of a kind

Dominguez said the demonstration space will be fitted out with a 40 by 13-foot curved LED screen, stacked with cutting edge and available for businesses and organizations to rent for their own use – a first for the region.

He said the nearest similar venue available to rent is in Washington, D.C.

Dominguez said in the demo/rental space clients can take advantage of Refresh LED product to create video production shoots, live event hosting, seminars, workshops and business conferences.

Impactful, dynamic engaging and flexible, video walls are larger than life tools used in many churches and worship services, the entertainment industry and for theatre performances.

Next generation in graphic displays

LED wall systems are a high-tech alternative to conventional projection screens.

When their existing projection system failed, Gary Rutz called Refresh LED to rent a system for a scheduled employee training session. Rutz, who is environmental health and safety supervisor of the Dairy Farmers of America chapter in Lower Allen Township in Cumberland County, said the LED equipment sold itself.

“We wanted to make a greater impact with our training efforts and improve our audio visual capabilities. It’s one of those things – if you get to see it you’re sold,” Rutz said. Based in Kansas City, Kansas, the Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) is the largest dairy co operative marketing organization in America. About 14,000 farmers participate in the DFA across 80 plants nationwide, Rutz said.

“Within an hour of a phone call, Refresh LED pulled up with a van and crew and put in a portable system to get us through the week of training” we had scheduled, he explained.

Not only are the visuals crisp and compelling, Rutz said the LED wall maximizes learning and communications during training sessions.

“We’re on the cutting edge of this technology, and we wanted to take a major step forward,” he said.

He said the new building will accommodate about 80% of the company’s staff. The remaining 20% of employee teams are located in the firm’s two additional locations in Las Vegas, Nevada and Tampa, Florida. The firm currently lists clients in 40 of the 50 United States.

Homecoming

Originally hailing from San Diego for Dominguez’s wife home is Central Pennsylvania. Proximity to family was a big factor in the decision to locate and grow the company near .

Proximity to major metro hubs including Philadelphia, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C. and New York City, the choice to buy, renovate and customize the larger building in Mechanicsburg sealed the deal, Dominguez said.

Expanding client base

Dominguez aims to grow the business to include wall LED projects for health care networks, and in college and university settings, live music concert venues and outdoor amphitheater productions.

A current project includes an LED video wall at the Harrisburg Beach Club City Island.

While about 60% of the business continues to serve churches and worship services, Dominguez said university clients can use LED walls for student engagement during classes, in common areas, hallways or outdoor spaces.

Health care settings with teaching environments could benefit from the systems, too.

Using LED wall tech “a cardiologist can do a presentation on new medical finds and show the true colors and detail of what they are illustrating without sacrificing detail. We think that will be a huge part of our future,” Dominguez said.

Business differentiators

Dominguez said Refresh LED is more than a .

“We are a people development business, too,” he said.

Refresh LED staff coach reseller business operators – creating a vendor/consumer dynamic aimed at helping resellers market and brand their firms while selling Refresh LED products.

“We can help them with their marketing game planning and help improve and develop their sales process,” he said.

The ultimate consequence of supporting product resellers means increasing sales for everyone, Dominguez said.
