Central Pa. dealerships, auto body shop purchased

Three Mechanicsburg dealerships and one auto body shop have been purchased from Freysinger Automotive by the Fred Beans Automotive Group. 

As of Monday, Freysinger’s GMC/Buick, Hyundai and Mazda dealerships are operating under the Fred Beans name, and the Freysinger Body Shop is CARSTAR Fred Beans New Cumberland. 

“We knew the Fred Beans Automotive Group was the right steward for our company, community and employees,” Garry Freysinger, secretary/treasurer of Freysinger Automotive, said in a statement. 

The Fred Beans Automotive Group operates two dealerships in Mechanicsburg, Fred Beans Ford and Fred Beans Kia, along with a CARSTAR, which provides collision services by I-CAR certified technicians.  

The acquisition of the Freysinger dealerships adds Buick as a new brand to the Fred Beans inventory. The Fred Beans Automotive Group encompasses 30 dealerships with thousands of new and used vehicles spanning 21 different brands. Fred Beans’ locations include eight CARSTAR collision centers, two AutoExpress quick-service locations, four AutoRent locations, commercial truck sales and the largest dealer-owned parts operation in the country. 

“Our growth means an even bigger selection of vehicles for our Fred Beans customers,” said Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group and dealer principal of these newly acquired dealerships. “It also gives us the opportunity to expand our customer base and membership in our customer loyalty program, the AutoRewards Club.” 

Through the Fred Beans AutoRewards Club, customers earn points on every dollar spent with Beans. Points can be used to pay $250 toward a collision deductible or $2,000 toward the purchase of a new vehicle. And beyond points, AutoRewards membership also provides exclusive benefits like free first oil changes, state inspections, towing reimbursement to Fred Beans service centers, and more. Other perks include access to special events and discounts and specials at more than 200 area merchants.
