Members 1st, PSECU named Best-in-State Credit Unions by Forbes
Fewer than 3% of credit unions receive this honor
Enola-based Members 1st Federal Credit Union and Harrisburg-based PSECU have earned Forbes and Statista’s 2025 Best-in-State Credit Union honor.
It marks the fifth year in a row Members 1st has been honored based on consumer feedback.
The national recognition honors top-performing credit unions nationwide based on direct feedback from consumers. According to a release, fewer than 3% of credit unions nationwide earn this distinction. The honor comes as Members 1st celebrates its 75th anniversary this year.
“As we celebrate 75 years of serving our communities, this recognition is a meaningful reminder of our purpose,” Karen Roland, chief marketing officer at Members 1st, said in a statement. “Knowing that our members feel supported and valued means everything to us—that’s what inspires and drives our work every single day.”
The rankings were determined through a survey of approximately 26,000 U.S. consumers with checking or savings accounts at banks or credit unions nationwide. Conducted between Feb. 27 and March 26, the survey asked participants to rate their financial institutions on factors like customer service, trust, digital and in person experiences, financial advice and fee transparency. Feedback from online reviews was also considered in the selection process. This year, 228 credit unions earned a spot on the 2025 list.
“Our members are the heart of everything we do,” said Michael Wilson, president and CEO of Members 1st. “To be recognized based on their experiences and trust is truly humbling. This award belongs to every associate who shows up each day to make a difference.”
A member-owned, not-for-profit financial institution, Members 1st Federal Credit Union has more than 600,000 members and $8 billion in assets. It serves its members and communities through its network of nearly 60 branch locations throughout Adams, Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Lycoming, Northampton, Perry, and York counties.
