The York County Planning Commission (YCPC) on April 21 promoted two people to deputy director roles.
George Barnock now serves as deputy director of housing and community development. He was previously the assistant director and chief of the programs management and compliance division. He is a certified U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Programs Regulation Specialist and a member of the American Planning Association. Barnock has been with YCPC for more than 23 years.
Jesse King now serves as deputy director of planning. He was previously the senior planner in the municipal planning division. His work includes the development of municipal model ordinances on rural landscapes and land uses, data center development, electric vehicle charging stations and warehousing. King has been with YCPC for over nine years.
In their new roles, both Barnock and King will work alongside director Mike Pritchard to coordinate work across YCPC’s divisions and within the community.
“These promotions reflect both George and Jesse’s strong service to YCPC and the communities we serve,” Pritchard said in a statement. “They bring deep knowledge of our programs, strong relationships with our partners, and a clear commitment to public service.”
For YCPC, the deputy director positions are new. They’re a part of an ongoing effort to strengthen leadership capacity, enhance coordination across divisions and support the long-term service to municipalities, partner organizations and residents.
