WellSpan appoints president of Evangelical Community Hospital
WellSpan Health has appointed Allen Fasnacht president of WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital and vice president for the health system.
Fasnacht will oversee operations of the 131-bed community hospital and the coordination of systemwide patient safety, quality, care management, performance improvement and patient experience processes.
Fasnacht serves as vice president, patient care services and chief nursing officer for WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital. He will assume his new role on Dec. 15. He will report to Niki Hinckle, who will be transitioning into the role of senior vice president of WellSpan’s north region in the new year, in addition to her current responsibilities as senior vice president of WellSpan’s west region.
“With a proven track record of operational excellence at WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital, Allen is well-positioned to successfully lead this team and our strategic growth in the region,” Hinckle said in a statement. “His dedication to empowering our teams to deliver personalized care is unwavering, all in support of our mission to provide exceptional care to our patients.”
Fasnacht has helped ensure WellSpan Evangelical Community Hospital’s integration into the WellSpan system while advancing patient care and organizational goals, according to a release. He has also led a multidisciplinary initiative that has achieved a reduction in the average length of stay for patients at the hospital, helping to lower the overall cost of care.
He has served in leadership roles at the University of Louisville Health in Kentucky, Barnes Jewish Hospital in Missouri, the University of California San Francisco Health System and the University of Pennsylvania Health System. He also served as a clinical director at WellSpan York Hospital, among other systems across Central Pennsylvania.
Fasnacht is certified in executive nursing practice and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and the Emergency Nurses Association.
