Tec Centro Lebanon completes construction space for health programs

Tec Centro Lebanon has opened newly renovated space for its . 

A provider of , Tec Centro’s new space is located at 9 South 9th Street in Lebanon. The opening of the new space was marked with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

“The Tec Centro Lebanon Allied Health Training Suite is a game-changer for our community,” , executive director of Tec Centro Lebanon said in a statement. “In just two to nine months, individuals can gain skills that lead to stable careers and transform their lives. This project is proof that when we come together as a community, we can create pathways to success for everyone. It’s an honor to witness the dedication that has brought this vision to life.” 

The project includes three training classrooms for and medical assistance training, flex classroom space, and a nurse aide training room. All classrooms are equipped with instructional teaching space and . The project also created a student lounge space for students to study and congregate and co-located workforce staff offices, so advisors are near students.  

The three allied health programs include ; ; and Healthcare Office Specialist. These programs will begin clinical portions of their programs in the new allied health training suite starting in December. The Center is enrolling students in its which will begin Jan. 6, and a second class is scheduled to begin in March. All allied health programs are taught in partnership with Harrisburg Area Community College.  

According to a press release, Tec Centro’s model is to provide adult basic and occupational training in careers that are in demand within . The adult learner on average pays about $100 for their program while the true cost is underwritten by the center through a combination of charitable dollars, government grants and support, Neighborhood Assistance Program, and philanthropy.  

Tec Centro Lebanon is a member of The Tec Centro Workforce Network and works with community colleges and training programs to provide skills training that leads to careers in allied health occupations, construction trades, culinary arts, and commercial and industrial building maintenance.
