Perry County Community Foundation (PCCF) has awarded over $43,000 in grants to 16 local nonprofits supporting food access, youth leadership, and community programs.
PCCF is a regional foundation of The Foundation for Enhancing Communities (TFEC) dedicated to fostering local philanthropy. TFEC has served the South-Central Pennsylvania counties of Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon and Perry, and the Dillsburg Area for more than 100 years.
“The Perry County Community Foundation continues to make a meaningful difference across Perry County,” Lauren Tressler, chair of the Advisory Committee, said in a statement. “Local generosity combined with community spirit can create a lasting impact.”
PCCF projects focus on food access, literacy programs, youth leadership, and more. According to a release, a grant from PCCF helps the Ronald McDonald House provide overnight stays so that the family of a patient doesn’t have to choose between being present and the cost of doing so.
The LEAF Project can continue its mission of cultivating youth leaders through meaningful work in the food system, which has distributed 15,000 boxes of fresh food. Rebuilding Together Greater Harrisburg can complete home renovation projects for a resident in need, and the College Knowledge Foundation can help students navigate the college process.
PCCF makes discretionary grants to nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Perry County. Per the release, PCCF also serves as a vehicle for individuals, companies, foundations, and charitable organizations to establish funds that will support the civic, social, educational, and cultural well-being of individuals living in Perry County.
PCCF celebrated the grants at their yearly grantee reception held at Whitetail Lodge in Marysville.
