Moon Dancer Winery has reopened once again during an ongoing legal battle for its survival.
The winery announced on August 10 that it has received court approval to reopen while it continues to fight a long-running legal dispute regarding the winery’s farm property on Klines Run Road, overlooking the Susquehanna River near Wrightsville, York County.
The lawsuit, brought by a couple who own the neighboring property, centers on the use of Miller’s agriculturally zoned property as a vineyard and winery.
York County Court issued an order on August 7 granting Moon Dancer Winery‘s request for a stay of the previous court order that had forced it to close its doors.
The winery said it reopened August 10 and is now able to remain open during its court appeal. Regular operating hours will resume starting this week.
“We’re grateful to the court for granting our stay, and we’re so excited to be able to reopen,” said Moon Dancer Owner Jim Miller. “After more than two decades, this has become more than a business; it’s our life. We can’t wait to reopen our doors this weekend, serving wines, ciders and wood-fired pizzas to all our loyal and long-standing supporters.”
The case is now in Pennsylvania Superior Court for consideration, and Moon Dancer can continue operations while that appeal goes forward.
