The co-founder of a Westmoreland County contract manufacturing company will join the York-based business management firm Mantec as its newest president and CEO.
Bruce Newell, founder of American Manufacturing & Integration (AMI) in Irwin, Pennsylvania, starts Dec. 1, the company wrote in a press release on Thursday.
Newell will replace John Lloyd, who served as president and CEO for 20 years. Lloyd plans to assist Newell in the transition into 2021.
Mantec was founded in 1988 and provides midstate manufacturers with expertise in sales and marketing, process improvement, manufacturing technology and workforce engagement.
Newell grew AMI to a company of over 40 people in its 13 years, working with original equipment manufacturers along the east coast. He is an advocate of manufacturing and education, according to a statement from Mantec.
“Throughout his career he frequently engaged with schools, K-12, about the opportunities and careers available in manufacturing and STEM,” the company wrote.
Along with Newell, a number of MANTEC employees were promoted into the company’s leadership team including Leigh Ann Wilson as COO, Scott Sipe as CFO and Nora Rotz as marketing manager.
