Lancaster Bible College (LBC) announced on June 4 Dr. Tommy Kiedis will step down as president of the institution on June 30, 2027. Jael K.D.L.V. Chambers, current executive vice president, will take his place beginning July 1, 2027.
After the transition, Kiedis will begin serving in an ambassadorial role as chancellor of the college. The board of trustees prioritized a new president already employed at LBC for the purpose of being committed to and steeped in its mission, direction and strategy. The self-study evaluation team report from LBC’s Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) visit in March 2026 affirmed the direction for an internal hire.
Chambers joined LBC in an executive capacity in Jan. 2023. Since then, his role has expanded in responsibility, including full institution-wide oversight following cabinet restructuring, with all cabinet leaders reporting directly to him. Chambers previously served as an adjunct professor at LBC from 2018–2021 and has created operational solutions for education organizations, including his platforms Ed Enuf and Cultured Enuf.
Under Kiedis’ leadership, Lancaster Bible College has executed a comprehensive three-year strategic plan, widely expanded access to online programs, grown enrollment, refreshed its brand, improved fiscal stability, completed a capital campaign and enhanced institutional alignment and accountability.
Chambers will serve as LBC’s seventh president in its 93-year history. He brings executive experience like acting as a primary leader in designing and executing the college’s strategic plan, strengthening organizational alignment, implementing institution-wide key performance indicators, enhancing professional development and reinforcing culture.
LBC intends for this announcement, which is made more than a year in advance, to create a seamless transition with continuity of leadership, clarity of direction and a smooth transfer of responsibilities.
