Just Cabinets Furniture & More, a Dauphin County-based chain with 11 stores, including four in Central Pennsylvania, is in the process of liquidating stores. Merchandise is currently being sold at up to 75 percent off, according to the company’s website.

The company has been posting “store closing” and “everything must go” notices on its website over the past two weeks, though it wasn’t immediately clear if all stores were closing their doors.

Company officials have not returned repeated phone calls and emails about the liquidation process and what prompted it. A company official at the corporate office in Lower Paxton Township declined comment last week about the store closings.

That corporate office and warehouse on Linglestown Road also is listed for sale at $5.5 million, according to NAI CIR.

The Business Journal contacted most of the stores, including sites in Maryland and Delaware, to confirm that they are in the process of liquidating their store inventory. Store operations will cease when remaining inventory is sold off, employees said.

Just Cabinets was founded in 1979 by Mort Bernstein, who also started Ollie’s Bargain Outlet. His son, Ted Bernstein, has been the president of Just Cabinets since 1990. Attempts to reach Bernstein have been unsuccessful.
