TownePlace Suites by Marriott Harrisburg West unveiled its $2.2 million redesign Thursday.
High Hotels Ltd., a division of Lancaster-based High companies, said a full interior renovation of the 120 all-suite hotel, located at 4915 Ritter Road in Mechanicsburg, was unveiled during a grand reopening and ribbon-cutting celebration.
George Book, president, and CEO of the West Shore Chamber of Commerce was on hand to cut the ribbon in honor of the contemporary “like-new” design.
The renovation project includes the hotel’s suites, lobby, breakfast area, hallways, indoor pool, fitness room, and outdoor grill and patio space, TownePlace Suites said.
The new modern design in the lobby features a communal table and seating around a modern gas fireplace.
“I am thrilled with the initial reactions of our guests as they have watched the renovation take shape,” said Dave Jacobs, the hotel’s general manager. “My team and I take a lot of pride in being named ‘Opening Hotel of the Year’ when it was built, and ‘TownePlace Suites Hotel of the Year’ a few years ago. Now, we cannot wait to share our brand-new design with corporate and leisure travelers visiting the Cumberland Valley.”
Each of the hotel’s suites has been given a makeover with new bedding, carpeting, wall coverings, fixtures, and draperies. Jacobs said guests can still expect to see signature TownePlace features like the expanded workspace with a moveable desk, extra-large closet space, and a fully equipped kitchen including a full-size refrigerator, stovetop, oven, coffee maker, microwave, and dishwasher.
Each studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom suite now has a dual twin sleeper sofa that expands via a pull-out from the base of the couch with a memory foam mattress, he said.
The redesigned breakfast area extends outdoors to a patio equipped with two new grilling stations and comfortable seating around an expanded fire pit.
