Gambling revenue rises in Pennsylvania casinos
Gambling revenue at casinos is up by double digits compared to a year ago, according to new numbers released Tuesday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
Officials said total gaming and fantasy contests revenue generated in Pennsylvania’s 12 casinos during November was 13% above revenue generated in November 2018. A total of $292 million in revenue was raised, the Board said, compared to $258.1 million in 2018.
Total tax revenue generated collectively through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests was $119.2 million during November 2019 compared to $107.4 million in November 2018.
The sources of gaming revenue regulated by the Gaming Control Board include slot machines, table games, internet gaming, retail and internet sports wagering, fantasy contests and video gaming terminals.
Wind Creek Bethlehem casino in Lehigh County saw $40.1 million in total revenue in November 2019, a drop of .48% from the $40.3 million total in 2018. Wind Creek was the only Pennsylvania casino that saw a drop in total revenue, but it did generate the second most revenue of all casinos in the state.
Parx Casino in Bucks County was the highest revenue generating operation, bringing in $54.2 million in total revenue in November, a change of 12.58% over November 2018’s total of $48.2 million.
Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Dauphin County came in with $21 million in revenue, a rise of 9.13% from November 2018’s $19.3 million.
