A downtown Lancaster
restaurant owner plans to open what he says will be the city’s first wine bar
next month.

Tim Carr, proprietor of Carr’s Restaurant, said he’s
renovating the street-level space above the restaurant at 50 W. Grant St., formerly Carr’s Corner
Grocery.

Crush will offer 20 wines by the glass and half-glass, as
well as light fare, high-end bottled beers and possibly a signature cocktail,
he said.

Today’s opening of the Lancaster County
Convention Center and
Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square
,
which has 300 hotel rooms, was a major factor in the decision to create Crush,
Carr said.

He said the venue will open by mid-July.
