Catherine Hershey Schools opening Harrisburg location
Catherine Hershey Schools for Early Learning (CHS) is hosting its Grand Opening on Wednesday for CHS Harrisburg.
Wednesday’s ceremony is private and by invitation-only.
A subsidiary of Milton Hershey School, CHS Harrisburg follows the opening of CHS Hershey in October 2023 and marks the second Early Childhood Education Center. CHS Harrisburg will serve 150 children.
According to a release, CHS is a $350 million initiative to initially develop six Early Childhood Education Centers in Pennsylvania to serve children from six weeks to age 5 from under-resourced and over-burdened backgrounds, with all costs covered for qualifying families.
CHS takes a whole-child and family success approach utilizing a play-based curriculum to enhance social, emotional, and cognitive development, per a release. Each Early Childhood Education Center will feature an innovation studio, active movement spaces, a STEM garden, and Family Success Center, where families relate to tools and resources to support their children in the classroom and at home.
