York Water Company acquires wastewater provider
The York Water Company announced it has finalized the acquisition of the wastewater assets of MESCO, Inc.
The announcement was made by JT Hand, president and CEO of The York Water Company.
“York Water is excited to welcome these new customers to York Water,” said Hand. “The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission determined it was in the public interest for York Water to acquire this system and expand our wastewater service territory. We look forward to providing this community with our reliable wastewater services and a superb customer experience.”
The MESCO, Inc., assets subject to the acquisition are in Monaghan Township outside of Dillsburg in York County. The MESCO, Inc. system provides wastewater collection and treatment services to Memphord Estates community, adding approximately 180 residential wastewater customers to The York Water Company’s wastewater portfolio.
More than 210,000 people in 55 communities in Adams, Franklin, York, and Lancaster counties are provided water and wastewater services by The York Water Company.
