On Tuesday Vibra and Detroit Medical Center opened a long term acute care hospital in Detroit within the medical center’s Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan, a news release said.
The new hospital, Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan – DMC Campus, will specialize in treating patients who are recovering from complex illnesses such as stroke, cardiac and respiratory diseases as well as multiple traumas and wounds.
It will employ an estimated 60 people when it is fully occupied, including registered nurses and respiratory therapists.
Vibra’s DMC Campus will have eight private patient rooms, 10 semi-private rooms and 28 beds in its 16,000 square-foot space, which will also include a rehabilitation therapy gym.
Vibra already has a presence in southeastern Michigan, and its main Vibra Hospital of Southeastern Michigan campus is located about 10 miles outside of Detroit in Lincoln Park. Vibra also has a hospital in Taylor, which is 20 minutes southeast of Detroit.
The DMC Campus will share clinical programs, services and administration with the Lincoln Park-based hospital.
On June 9, Vibra announced it opened a long term acute care hospital in Richardson, Texas.
Vibra currently owns and operates 92 specialty hospitals, transitional care units and hospital-based outpatient physical therapy locations in 20 states.
