Post-ICU at UPMC Memorial partners with pulmonary practice

An independent medical practice is now providing pulmonary and critical care to critically ill and post-ICU patients at UPMC Memorial Hospital in York County.
Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine Associates (PCCMA) announced this week that one physician and one advanced practitioner employed by the practice will be providing services at Select Specialty Hospital in York.
Select Specialty Hospital provides long-term care on UPMC Memorial Hospital’s fifth floor. Select Specialty, formerly located at WellSpan York Hospital, moved to UPMC’s new West Manchester Township hospital late last month.
Select Specialty works with patients recovering from a stay in UPMC Memorial’s intensive care unit in one of its 23 rooms. PCCMA‘s staff will offer evaluation and care for lung conditions and sleep-related problems to Select Specialty’s patients.
“We are thrilled to establish this affiliation and provide services to patients at Select Specialty Hospital in York,” said Jason Alexander, executive director of PCCMA. “All of us at PCCMA look forward to helping more patients address their respiratory and critical care needs and recover, so they can successfully manage their condition and lead healthier lives.”
PCCMA has more than 50 employees at two locations in Lemoyne and Carlisle.
