Peoples Security Bank & Trust, which has branches throughout the Lehigh Valley and Central Pennsylvania, said it contributed over $1.3 million in 2024 through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC.)
The funds were given to private schools, scholarship organizations, pre-kindergartens, school districts, universities, and other non-profit organizations.
The EITC allows businesses to redirect a portion of their state tax dollars to support educational and community organizations via the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
The donated funds supported scholarships, educational materials, school grants, and innovative programs that enhance learning opportunities.
Overall, 106 organizations across Pennsylvania benefited from these contributions.
Since joining the program in 2015, Peoples Security Bank & Trust said it has allocated over $7.5 million through the EITC initiative.
“At Peoples Security Bank & Trust, we are proud to give back to the communities where we live, work, and play,” said Jerry Champi, CEO. “Through the EITC Program, we can support educational initiatives that create meaningful and lasting impacts for students and families across the regions we serve. By investing in quality education, we help build vibrant, inclusive, and thriving communities.”
