Lancaster County-based magic show Magic & Wonder joined a pantheon of entertainers, including David Copperfield, Siegfried & Roy and Penn & Teller, after winning an award from the world’s largest magic organization last month.
Magic & Wonder at the Magic & Wonder Theater in Leacock Township announced this week that it won the Merlin Award for the “2021 Best Magic & Variety Show.”
The award is presented by the International Magicians Society and is given to entertainers who “achieved the highest level of performance in their craft on the national and international stage.”
Magic & Wonder, featuring illusionist Brett Myers, joins a long line of famous magicians. In its announcement, the theater called the award the “most prestigious award in magic.”
“It is considered to be to magic what the Oscar is to film, the Emmy is to television, and the Tony is to theater,” Magic & Wonder wrote in the statement.
The theater reopened this week for the 2021 season in the Magic & Wonder Theater at 3065 Lincoln Highway East, in Paradise and will be running its show “Worlds of Wonder” until Oct. 30.
