Lancaster-based Environmental Recovery Corp., which provides wastewater treatment, industrial waste management and other environmental services to customers in the mid-Atlantic and Midwest, has been acquired by VLS Environmental Solutions.
Headquartered in Houston, VLS is a national leader in waste management services, railcar cleaning, and barge cleaning and repair services, according to a release. The company purchased Environmental Recovery Corp. – which will operate within VLS Waste Services – from Rock Island Capital. Terms were undisclosed.
Environmental Recovery Corp.’s Ken Lefever will continue to run the business and report to Platt Moore, vice president of VLS Waste Services.
“ERC’s footprint fits seamlessly with our current locations and allows us to offer our solutions into new regions,” Moore said in the release. “… We are excited about the future of our waste business and working with ERC to reach even more customers nationally.”
“VLS has established itself as a market leader in our industry and we are excited to partner with them to build on that position,” Lefever added.
Acquired by Aurora Capital Partners in October 2017, VLS has grown from six facilities in 2017 to more than 25 currently, employing more than 700. There are plans to continue to scale the organization through organic greenfield investments and its buy-and-build acquisition strategy, the release noted.
