Wixom, Michigan-based General RV Center has purchased the former site of Messick’s Equipment in Elizabethtown for $8.75 million.

The 18.9-acre industrial campus at 187 Drive was listed last year by Lancaster-based SABLE Commercial Realty.

Messick’s Equipment left the late last year to move into its new 30-acre facility at 1475- 1675 Strickler Road, Manheim.

General RV, which currently operates a store in Harrisburg, purchased the campus for a new supercenter it plans to open this July.

“General RV has a long history of providing first-class experiences for customers at our 14 dealerships nationwide,” said Loren Baidas, president of General RV. “We are excited to expand our operations in Pennsylvania to better serve campers across the northeast.”

The new facility will feature 34 service bays, more than any other RV dealer in the state, according to General RV.

To staff the new facility, the company is looking to hire 50 people and will be hosting hiring events on June 7 and June 8 at the new location.

The property is located off of Route 283 and features 1,800 feet of road frontage, said Justin Geisenberger, a commercial specialist with SABLE.
