YRC, Eastern Insurance, Hersha report Q1 earnings

YRC Worldwide Inc. today reported a first-quarter comprehensive loss attributable to the company of $21.4 million, or $2.93 per diluted share, compared with $79.8 million, or $12.40 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter.

The Kansas-based trucking conglomerate has a significant midstate presence. Shares are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol YRCW.
Lancaster County-based Eastern Insurance Holdings Inc. on Thursday reported first-quarter net income of about $3.2 million, or 42 cents per diluted share, compared with about $2.9 million or 37 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago period.
Shares of the company are traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol EIHI.
Hersha Hospitality Trust reported earlier this week a first-quarter net loss applicable to common shareholders of about $13.1 million, or 7 cents per diluted share, compared with about $10.7 million, or 6 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago period.
The self-advised real estate investment trust owns more than 60 hotels in major urban gateway markets, according to its earnings release Tuesday.
Shares of Hersha, with corporate offices listed in Harrisburg and Philadelphia, are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol HT.
