York-based Barton Associates Inc., a full-service consulting engineering firm, has promoted a longtime engineer to the role of president.
The firm said Friday that Michael Rader is now president of the company.
Rader, who has been with Barton Associates since 1997, had been serving as vice president and COO. He also leads the firm’s education practice, which serves public and private colleges, universities and K-12 schools.
He assumes the role of president from N. Daniel Waltersdorff, who remains chairman and CEO.
“Michael has always been a key contributor to the growth of Barton over the years and as the new president he will be fundamental in positioning the firm for future growth and success,” Waltersdorff said.
Barton Associates was founded in 1968. The firm, which has more than 70 employees and offices in State College and Pittsburgh, specializes in the education and health care markets.
Barton Associates provides mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, architectural lighting design and commissioning services.
