A task force created by the York County Commissioners is set to begin working on a plan for the county’s post-pandemic recovery.
“The effects of the COVIDâ€19 crisis have been sweeping,” said Julie Wheeler, president of the York County Commission. “No aspect of life as we once knew it has been left unaltered. While the full breadth, depth, and duration of this healthcare and economic crisis are unknown, it is evident that the county government must begin the necessary planning to progress towards the new sense of normalcy we one day will reach.”
The YoCo STRONG Recovery Task Force will offer short, mid and long-term recommendations, tasks and goals for the following:
“As this crisis is multi-faceted, so too will be its recovery,” Wheeler said. “Building a resilient community requires an inclusive and engaging planning process.”
Members of the community are asked offer input on the planning process at the commissioners’ public meetings. The task force’s final report is expected to be complete in the next two to three weeks.
