York-area golf course listed for $1.65M

A 151-acre golf course in Dover Township is up for sale for $1.65 million.

Montgomery County-based KBKHR Associates LLC purchased Honey Run Golf Course in 2008. After 10 years with the golf course, the business said it is looking to find a buyer that can provide more hands-on management.

“More ownership presence would help build customer relationships and provide an improved attention to the daily details of providing an exceptional customer experience. We also believe there is an opportunity to market the course more effectively, starting with our existing customers,” Jay Wellenbusher of KBKHR said in a statement.

KBKHR has retained the services of Conshohocken-based Golf Property Analysts to market the property.

The 18-hole golf course was built in 1971 and designed by Edmund Ault. It features water crossings, bunkers, vegetation and asphalt cart paths.

The sale price for the property includes a 6,220 square-foot clubhouse that features a pro shop and snack bar, a 7,000 square-foot maintenance building and a practice facility. The sale of Honey Run also includes 80 leased golf carts, on-property equipment and a liquor license.

Wellenbusher hopes to have identified a new owner in time for the 2019 season and encourages potential buyers to retain the existing staff.
