Philosophy to live by: My father was my personal mentor for life. He wrote stories, prose and poetry. Two quotes I live by from him are, “Look for the good in people because the bad is obvious.” e other is, “When you go to bed and lay your head on your pillow, know that you touched someone’s heart that day.”

First paying job: Working for my grandmother and uncle in Dallas, Texas. ey owned more than 20 drycleaner substations. I covered for them when their staff was on summer vacations. I learned that I loved people, and if you give them a warm smile and kind voice, it goes a very long way.
