Who did Mantec honor at its annual manufacturers’ gathering?

Mantec developed its annual Manufacturing Awards program in 2010 to recognize manufacturers in southcentral Pennsylvania who have “demonstrated a commitment to competitive manufacturing and have positioned themselves to capitalize on opportunities available in the dynamic markets of today and tomorrow.”

This year’s winners, announced at Thursday’s event, are:

Tooling Dynamics LLC, of York, was recognized for excellence in continuous improvement. The company manufactures precision metal stampings and Swiss-machined parts.

Elsner Engineering Works, Inc., of Hanover, was recognized for excellence in innovation. The company designs and manufactures a wide range of converting equipment for the paper, film, foil, and non-wovens industries.

The Beistle Co., of Shippensburg, was recognized for excellence in international trade. The firm describes itself as “the oldest and largest manufacturer of decorations and party goods in the United States.”

Polymar, of Leola, was recognized for excellence in supplier development. The company serves many markets, such as  automotive, medical, construction, electrical and fluid transfer, supplying customers with products such as gears, cams, medical disposables, electronic enclosures, interconnection devices, coil bobbins, optical components, under-the-hood electrical motors, and pump housings.

Nursery Supplies Inc., of Chambersburg, was recognized for excellence in sustainability. The company manufactures plastic containers for the wholesale nursery industry.

Crescent Industries, Inc., of New Freedom, was recognized for excellence in technology. The company is an employee-owned custom injection molder, whose clients come from, among others, the medical, pharmaceutical, dental, defense, safety, electrical/electronic, aerospace, OEM/Industrial and consumer industries.

Turkey Hill Dairy, of Manor Township, was recognized for excellence in workforce.
