White Rose Credit Union and HD York Federal Credit Union plan to merge.
The Department of Banking and Securities approved the application from White Rose Credit Union to merge HD York Federal Credit Union into White Rose, according to a summary of recent department activity.
White Rose Credit Union President and CEO Deb Kauffman said the HD York facility had only one location with one employee, but that employee had been out on medical leave. Because of that, White Rose had been helping HD York service its membership.
Through the six-month partnership, the two credit unions decided to merge, she said.
“It gives us the ability to service the members of the (HD York) facility,” she said. “There are a number of services we provide it didn’t have the chance to offer.”
White Rose has five locations throughout the county and is open to anyone who lives, works or worships in York or Adams counties. HD’s one location was in Springettsbury Township, and it serves employees of the Harley-Davidson plant in the township, Kauffman said.
The merger is expected to be complete by the end of May, she said.
