Vibra Healthcare expands its travel nursing business

Mechanicsburg-based Vibra Healthcare has launched Vibra Travels as a travel nursing and health care staffing business.

“We’ve created a custom, flexible approach and we can quickly place quality talent wherever support is most needed,” Amy Slivinski, vice president of Vibra Travels, said in a release.

Vibra Travels originated last year as an internal service, recruiting traveling clinicians to work with Vibra Healthcare’s national network of critical care hospitals, medical rehabilitation hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.

It grew rapidly – spurred by widespread staffing shortages and burgeoning interest in travel nursing opportunities – and recently expanded to serve outside clients.

“We understand the hospital business,” said Wayne Mackey, Vibra Travels’ CEO. “Having developed Vibra Travels out of Vibra Healthcare’s own talent needs, we truly know the burdens created by staffing shortages. We also know the unique challenges of working through agency support.”

Vibra Travels focuses largely on hiring and placing clinicians that are in the highest demand, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and respiratory therapists, the release said.

Hospitals use travelers in these positions when they cannot fill job openings locally, and for interim support while hospitals train newly hired employees, during times of peak hospitalizations, and when there is a need to cover staff vacations or illnesses.
