Mechanicsburg-based Vibra Healthcare LLC today announced it
acquired a long-term acute care hospital in southeastern Michigan.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
The 83-bed Michigan hospital
will continue to operate as the largest free-standing long-term acute care hospital
in Michigan;
it will be known as Vibra of Southeastern Michigan, according to Vibra.
Vibra also said it formed a medical advisory committee to help
identify the needs of the surrounding health care community and help in
developing programs.
Vibra Healthcare is a specialty hospital provider focused on
the development, acquisition and operation of freestanding long-term acute care
and medical rehabilitation hospitals. The company reported $148.9 million in
revenue in 2006, according to Business Journal research.
With the addition of the Michigan hospital, Vibra will operate 14 free-standing
hospitals with 900 beds in eight states.
