Vibra Health Plan has won state and federal approval to offer two health plans to Medicare-eligible Pennsylvanians in 17 counties throughout the state, the insurer announced yesterday.
Vibra Health Plan hopes its two plans will stand out from the competition based on the help it plans to give seniors in navigating the complexity of health care.
Vibra Health Plan might arrange transportation to appointments as well as access to social and economic resources that enhance members’ physical and mental well-being.
Vibra Health Plan refers to those efforts as its member advocate program. It has hired three social workers to function as member advocates.
Overall Vibra Health Plan has 55 employees, and expects to have 62 by the end of the year, according to Michael Fiaschetti, president and CEO of Vibra Health Plan.
Fiaschetti co-founded Vibra Health Plan with Brad Hollinger. Hollinger serves as Vibra Health Plan’s chairman, and also is chairman and CEO of another midstate company, Vibra Healthcare LLC in Cumberland County.
Vibra Healthcare operates specialty hospitals and rehab centers, and is independent of Vibra Health Plan. Vibra Health Plan is Hollinger’s first foray into the insurance side of health care.
Vibra Health Plan is marketing its two health plans in various ways, including a locally made commercial that features scenes from the Harrisburg area.
Medicare-eligible Pennsylvanians will be able to enroll in a Vibra Health Plan from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, with health insurance coverage starting Jan. 1, 2017.
