he is leaving the Susquehanna Township-based development group.

DeSousa’s last day with the company will be Oct. 17, he
recently wrote in an e-mail.

DeSousa could not be reached for comment. He is on military
leave this week with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. DeSousa is a

Chairman Hovig Ralph Vartan will fill DeSousa’s position, he
said.

“(Bob) is leaving as part of a mentorship/succession plan
that included my studying for my MBA and getting experience under his
tutelage,” Vartan wrote in an e-mail. “Oct. 17 is the formal date, although
we’re still working on some projects together.”

DeSousa has been with the company since 2002.

Vartan Group has developed buildings throughout the Harrisburg area since 1975, including the Forum Place office
and parking building along Chestnut
Street in downtown Harrisburg.
