The Camp Hill-based nonprofit UCP Central PA, which last week appointed a new president and CEO, has also named a new COO to oversee program operations across its 17-county area.
New COO Janeen Latin most recently served as UCP’s chief management officer, responsible for leading the agency’s fundraising, development, marketing and communications functions. She concurrently served as executive director of the UCP Foundation for the past three years, UCP officials said in a news release.
The regional UCP’s new president and CEO, Judith McCowan, named Latin to the COO post, saying her career “has been defined by her singularity of focus on advocating for the needs of differently-abled individuals of all ages.
“Along with her extensive leadership skills, Janeen brings a deep, experiential knowledge of the historical foundations of the organization and its operations, as well a keen understanding of the human services, financial, regulatory, and employment realities of the landscape in which we operate,” McCowan said in a statement.
Latin has been a 12-year member of UCP’s management team under the leadership of former president and CEO Jeffrey Cooper, who retired April 30.
Cooper described Latin as “a leader who looks well beyond the horizon to envision and design a future of independence and a life without limits for people with disabilities.”
Latin, who joined UCP in 1998 as a member of its family support services team, has a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from Penn State University, and is to receive a master’s in professional studies in organizational leadership, with a concentration in finance, this month from Central Penn College.
She lives in Harrisburg with her husband, Frank, and has four daughters.
