Toyota to invest $500 million in Uber for self-driving cars

Toyota Motor Corp is partnering with Uber Technologies Inc to advance autonomous vehicle technology, Reuters reported on Monday.

In Pennsylvania, transportation agencies and regulators are bracing for the not-so-distant reality of self-driving cars and sizing up what the state’s future roads will look like as a result.

Uber is also developing flying vehicle technology, with plans to deploy electric, autonomous taxis as part of its ride-sharing service by 2023. Local engineering firm Gannett Fleming is a prominent player is Uber’s plans.
