The COVID-19 pandemic left many people with a sense of unease and anxiety, he said, whether related to the economy, personal wellness or other unpredictable forces. “This environment tested me as a health care leader, given a core part of my job is to help provide certainty and peace of mind to Capital’s members, our employees and those in the communities we serve. I’ve found that compassion, empathy and trust are critical leadership traits in times like these. Expertise is helpful, but a sense of humanity is essential.”
