Henry is responsible for setting the overall strategic direction of the bank and holding company. He also works closely with the board, senior management team, employees and customers. “I provide the support that our individual employees need to succeed. Because when they succeed, so do our customers and communities,” he said.
He assumed his role as president and CEO in 2016 and has over 38 years of banking experience. Prior to F&M Trust, Henry served in various capacities within the banking industry including managing commercial lending teams, retail management, private banking, investment and trust services and a de novo bank startup.
Henry says his greatest professional accomplishment is becoming president and CEO of F&M Trust, where he works each day with talented people. “I am very fortunate to be in a position of leadership because I have the ability to empower people to do their best work,” Henry said.
His greatest life lesson: Always be optimistic. “Being optimistic allows you to overcome challenging situations in your life. Sometimes we don’t get the breaks we want or perhaps deserve. But by keeping yourself optimistic, you don’t miss the opportunities that exist to help you navigate the given situation successfully,” he said.
“When it’s time to take a break from work, I enjoy traveling, scuba diving when I can and spending time with my family and young grandson,” Henry said.
