Three retailers will replace Kmart on Carlisle Pike

The Kmart store closing on the Carlisle Pike in Hampden Township won’t stay vacant very long.

Pomegranate Real Estate, which manages the retail center, said its redevelopment plan includes bringing three new retailers to the site.

Marshalls, Homegoods and Stein Mart are scheduled to open there in the third quarter of 2017, the company said on its website.

Stein Mart is an upscale, boutique-style department store chain based in Florida. It has stores in the Lehigh Valley and near Philadelphia.

Retail discounter Marshalls and Homegoods, a chain of discount home-furnishing stores, are sister companies of T.J. Maxx.

The property also includes 40,000 square feet of planned expansion space, the company said. Construction has been approved, but no tenants have been named.

A Pomegranate representative was not immediately available for comment.

Last week, Sears Holdings announced plans to close 108 Kmart stores and 42 Sears stores across the country, including a few local retail sites.
