The results are in: What grocery store topped CPBJ readers’ choice?

Food and drink website The Daily Meal’s recent survey found that Cumberland County-based Giant Food Stores is the fan favorite in Pennsylvania, and the Business Journal’s online poll revealed the same top pick.
Approximately 33 percent of readers who participated in our online survey prefer Giant. Wegmans garnered 27 percent of the votes, while Weis took 18 percent.
Six percent of readers polled selected Aldi, and Walmart received 2 percent.
Write-in votes went to Karns Quality Food, Stauffers of Kissel Hill, Costco, Ferguson & Hassler, Pronios Market, Musser’s Market, Mutzabaugh’s Family Market, Nell’s Shurfine Market, Darrenkamps, PriceRite and Grocery Outlet.
With recent liquor reforms changing the wine and beer sales game for grocery stores, we also asked readers if alcohol sales influence their choice of grocery store. About 22 percent said yes.
