A chiropractic clinic and three UPMC practices are joining the Cumberland County medical community.
Baker Chiropractic Sport and Spine Clinic opened in Mechanicsburg on Saturday with a grand opening celebration at its 156 Cumberland Parkway location.
UPMC is opening three new services; UPMC Kunkel Surgical Associates, UPMC Central PA Weight Management Center and UPMC Divine Mercy Womens Health, Tuesday at 225 Grandview Ave, Camp Hill.
Dr. Ken and Laura Baker, founders of the Baker clinic, said they will specialize in working with athletes on sports-related injuries and performance.
Ken Baker previously worked at the North York office of Chiropractic Athletic Center and is trained in Active Release Therapy, he said. His wife, an RN, will be office manager.
“After over a decade of practicing in York, I am excited to now serve the Mechanicsburg community. Having been born and raised in Dillsburg, this local area is a special place to call home and put down roots as a business,” he said. “Most importantly, it is so rewarding to be able to help members of my community who have an injury or new condition and think they will have to live with the pain for life, then have them leave my office pain free.”
UPMC is holding a key presentation Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. to officially open the new practices that UPMC said is a commitment to bringing services to the local community.
