The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is hosting a recruitment event for job seekers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Adams County Maintenance Office, 1185 Fairfield Road, Gettysburg.

Gov. Tom Wolf today said $47.8 million in funding through the Multimodal Transportation Fund will be used to fix 56 highway, bridge, transit, and bike and pedestrian projects in 28 counties, including six in south central Pennsylvania. 

Wolf Administration officials today highlighted 133 infrastructure projects anticipated to start or continue this year in the southcentral Pennsylvania region due to the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). 

Numerous roads will be closed this weekend in downtown Harrisburg because of the city’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Pennsylvania American Water announced Thursday that it’s beginning construction to replace nearly 2 miles of water main in Derry Township and Steelton borough to improve reliability, reduce service disruptions, and increase water flows for firefighting.
