Chicago-based vehicle parts manufacturer DRiV expects to lay off 233 employees at its Manchester Township, York County distribution center by February.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice filed by the company with the state Department of Labor and Industry, it will close its distribution center on 20 Leo Lane. Beginning this month, the company will start transitioning its distribution operations, product lines and customers to a distribution center in Smyrna, Tennessee, according to the notice.
The closure will affect 208 hourly and 25 salaried employees who will be let go from the location between January 10 and the end of February. The layoffs are expected to be permanent and no employees will be able to bump or displace another employee at the company.
DRiV is a vehicle part manufacturer that builds and sells replacement parts such as pistons, catalytic converters and mufflers. The company’s portfolio includes brands such as Monroe, Champion, MOOG and Wagner.
DRiV was not immediately available for comment.
