Their waterparks may be closed, but three popular amusement parks will have plenty of thrilling rides and kid-friendly spooky fun over the next few weekends. Here’s a rundown:
Dutch Wonderland Happy Hauntings
Saturdays, Oct. 20 & 27, 2-9 p.m.; Sundays, Oct. 21 & 28, from 2-8 p.m. (all hours are weather permitting)
Happy Hauntings at Dutch Wonderland is a fun, fall family event featuring themed rides, special entertainment, and tasty treats. The Trick-or-Treat Trail provides a safe, interactive trick-or-treating experience where kids can trick-or-treat with over 20 lifelike dinosaurs.
On Saturday, October 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 30 at 7 p.m., join Duke, Princess Brooke, and the Knight of Safety for a kid-friendly Halloween bash featuring music, dancing and more. Don’t forget to wear your costume!
Adults and children are welcome to wear their Halloween costumes to Happy Hauntings at Dutch Wonderland. When choosing costumes, please keep in mind the family-friendly nature of the event and don’t wear anything overly frightening or gory. Guests 13 and older are not permitted to wear masks to the park during Happy Hauntings.
Regular admission (ages 3+) is $25.99, children ages 2 and under are FREE.

Hersheypark in the Dark and Trick-or-Treat Adventure
Fridays-Sundays, October 19-Nov. 4
Fridays 5-10 p.m.; Saturdays 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Sundays noon-9 p.m.
Enter Hershey Hallow to experience Hershey’s Trick-or-Treat Adventure. The candy collecting begins at Hershey’s Chocolate World attraction and continues into Treatville inside Hersheypark. Kids 12 and younger can enjoy a treat at eleven stops between both locations, including four spooky stops in Hershey Hallow. And of course, there are plenty of rides open! All 13 coasters will be running. There are extra thrills with Laff Trakk, where the lights will be off from open to close; additionally, rides on three coasters, Wildcat, Comet, and Lightning Racer, will be offered in darkness during the last hour of every nigh. Admission: $39.95 regular admission, $29.95 ages 3-8, children under 2 are FREE. Parking is extra.

Knoebels Hallo-Fun Weekends
Fridays – Sundays, October 19-28, 2018
Fridays 6-10 p.m., Saturdays 12-10 p.m., Sundays noon-5 p.m.
Every October, Knoebels transforms into a spooktacular place for ghosts and ghouls of all ages. Visitors can experience tasty treats, games, attractions and, of course, a selection of Knoebels’ rides. Hallo-Fun Weekends offers gentle haunts, scary attractions and treats to suit everyone’s taste, and special treat stops for children 12 and under in costume.
Of added interest: character breakfasts at the Alamo restaurant on Sunday mornings. Register online.
Entrance to amusement park and parking are FREE. Pay-one-price ride plans from $15-$38, depending on day and height of rider. Individual ride tickets are also available.
