York-based C-P Flexible Packaging has acquired Fruth Custom Packaging Inc. and affiliated company Cleanroom Film and Bag Inc., of Placentia, California, for an undisclosed price.
The California businesses specialize in manufacturing flexible rollstock and premade pouches used in cleanroom environments, according to a release.
C-P Flexible Packaging is a portfolio company of First Atlantic Capital, a New York-based private equity firm. The move will enlarge C-P’s range on the West Coast and its expertise in medical device, biopharmaceutical, electronics and semiconductor packaging.
“With the global focus on health and wellness as well as the growth in semiconductor demand for technologies like 5G, we see significant additional growth opportunities for Fruth’s sophisticated cleanroom packaging materials,” Mike Hoffman, CEO of C-P Flexible Packaging, said in the release.
Jim Fruth, president of Fruth Custom Packaging and Cleanroom Film and Bag, added: “We are excited to join C-P, a company with strong manufacturing expertise and customer focus. We look forward to using our combined strengths to expand our reach throughout North America.”
C-P Flexible Packaging employs more than 800 people and operates nine manufacturing plants in North America.
