in downtown York
resigned last week.

Joe Jefcoat has left the Strand
to pursue other opportunities, according to a company statement. The executive
committee of the performing arts center has appointed Suzanne McConkey interim
president and CEO. McConkey most recently served as a consultant for the York Nonprofit

Center at York College.
She is a former Strand board member.

A search committee is conducting a nationwide search for the
permanent replacement, the statement said.

The center offers a variety of performing arts, including
musicals and comedies, as well as independent, foreign and classic film

current form in the early 1980s.
