At the firm, Koehler counsels individuals, family businesses and multinational corporations in transactional matters and as well as business, real estate and contractual issues. The York native, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School, has been practicing in the midstate since 1983.
“The essence of any profession is the application of the knowledge and skills of the practitioner in the interest of others,” Koehler said. And serving the interest of others – clients, colleagues and the community at large – is most rewarding aspect of his job. Challenges also present opportunity. “By making adjustments to service delivery mechanics, the legal profession continued to serve our clients and our communities even through the COVID pandemic.”
Koehler said he was fortunate to be mentored by “one of central Pennsylvania’s preeminent members of the bar. As the protégé of Donn I. Cohen, I learned a great deal about serving as an advocate, drafting documents and the practice of law in general. Donn helped me develop the skills necessary to serve as an effective legal counselor.” He credited Cohen for his document drafting skills, teaching him that “every word matters.”
