York Township-based Springwood Hospitality is expanding its Maryland territory with a new Hilton hotel.
The company is developing a Home2 Suites by Hilton in Frederick, Md., according to Franklin County-based Brechbill & Helman Construction Co. Inc., the general contractor on the project.
The 117-room, five-story extended-stay hotel will be the second Home2 project this year for Brechbill & Helman. The company is starting on construction of a Home2 in Silver Spring Township, Cumberland County.
It also will be the second Home2 for Springwood. The company operates a Home2 in York County.
The new Maryland hotel, which will include an indoor pool, fitness room and outdoor fire pit, will be located near Springwood’s Homewood Suites off Buckeystown Pike and Interstate 270.
Cost of the project was not released. Construction is slated to begin in June and take about 10 months, according to the contractor.
Other partners on the project include architect Newcomer Associates of Chambersburg and civil engineering firm Harris, Smariga & Associates, based in Frederick, Md.
