A Las Vegas-based sports betting company is offering Pennsylvania restaurants and taverns free access to its products and membership to the Pennsylvania Licensed Beverage and Tavern Association (PLBTA) for one year.

The association said on Monday that it is working with KonekTV, a company that specializes in providing digital sports betting signage to licensed restaurants and taverns, to help businesses continue their membership with the Harrisburg-based association or try out a membership for the first time.

Along with receiving a free year of membership in the association, the businesses will also receive a free year of KonekTV’s digital signage solution that allows a business to stream betting odds and other sports and establishment news through existing televisions.

“We know that Pennsylvania’s taverns and licensed restaurants are struggling financially,” said Javier Vargas, COO of KonekTV. “In addition to bolstering the PLBTA’s ability to support the establishments, our product will directly help the establishments benefit from the emerging mobile sports betting industry.” “

Chuck Moran, executive director of the PLBTA, said that the organization has been working to keep its members in the loop during the pandemic and that this offer will help non-members access the benefits of being part of a group of organized taverns.

Taverns and restaurants will also have an opportunity to introduce mobile sports betting into their businesses, which Moran said has become increasingly popular in the state.

“Many patrons of taverns regularly tap the power of smartphone apps to place bets, so KonekTV’s product is a great way for an establishment to entertain customers, and keep them longer,” he said. “It is a natural fit for our industry, especially sports bars.”

Businesses interested can contact KonekTV through Nov. 1.
