Township’s Studio 5 Architects, SMW
Architects is opening today in York.
Lancaster County-based Studio 5’s last official day was
Friday, said Stephen M. Wise, who was a partner/principal for Studio 5 and is a
principal at SMW.
“The partners (at Studio 5) chose to go in a different
direction and pursue other opportunities, and as a result I have created SMW
Architects,” he said.
SMW will focus on the
commercial, retail, hospitality, renovation and rehabilitation markets, he
said.
“(The focus at SMW is) a little bit more refined (than
Studio 5’s), it’s a narrower market,”
Wise said. “We had the opportunity to gain somewhat of a foothold and a focus
in this economy in the medical and in the retail sectors.”
Tina Maag will join
the firm as a principal and Jami Smith will join as a designer; both women previously worked at Studio 5.
