Countryside Christian Community, a continuing-care retirement community in Lebanon County, has announced expansion plans for the next 20 years. The facility occupies about half of its 24 acres in the Annville area. The expansion would occupy the remaining acreage, said Daniel Snyder, director of planning and development for the not-for-profit organization.
Countryside has about 80 residents. The expansion would grow that number by about 120 new residents. The growth would happen in phases and would include a public sewer connection, 22 cottages, 72 apartments and 21 assisted-living units. The existing facility would be replaced over time and about 30 additional employees will eventually be hired, Snyder said. The plans also include a pharmacy, a bank and a wellness center.
The operation will begin by seeking a zoning amendment to facilitate the plan in the near future before pursuing a sewer connection and submitting a land-development plan. The project cost has yet to be enumerated, but will be funded through cash reserves, financing and contributions, Snyder said.
